Drive 1.30, stop at at the summit of Doi Inthanon Thailand’s Highest Peak

Doi Inthanon, standing at 8,415 feet (2,565 meters), is the highest mountain in Thailand and part of the Himalayan mountain range extension. It’s named after King Inthawichayanon, who was passionate about preserving northern Thailand’s forests. Here, you’ll enjoy cool mountain air (temperatures can be as low as 5°C in winter) and witness a memorial shrine dedicated to the late king.

The Phra Mahathat Napha Methanidon and Phra Mahathat Naphaphon Bhumisiri were built in 1987 and 1992 to commemorate King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s 60th birthday and Queen Sirikit’s 60th birthday, respectively. These stunning structures sit on a mountaintop, offering panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and gardens. Kew Mae Pan Nature Trail—The “Sea of Mist” This stunning trail is one of the most scenic hikes in Thailand, famous for its cloud forests, mossy pathways, and sweeping mountain views.
